About
Before the dawn of our time, our universe knew only one Pharaoh, whose reign and downfall were accompanied by divine and supernatural forces. The name of this Pharaoh is still spoken with reverent awe by all his successors across our divided universe: Ra.
If the ancient words are to be believed, his once firm but just heart was broken by the death of his beautiful wife Sheherazade, who had made his lonely and almighty existence as the sole ruler of the universe and master of the stargates bearable.
After she had given him the long-awaited heir to the throne, the ancient Egyptian gods called her to their side, leaving him helpless in his despair over her loss. All that remained was his son Djammis, whom he henceforth guarded more than his own life. Yet with every glance into those dark eyes, he was reminded of his beloved Sheherazade.
Despite his boundless power, he was doomed never to find peace again. Because he was defenseless against the will of the ancient Egyptian gods, he punished his people by making them feel his supremacy in the cruelest ways:
He raised tributes, carelessly ordered death sentences, and cared nothing for the welfare of his people, only for his own.
But neither the treasures he stole from his people nor the punishments with which he demonstrated his near-divine power could bring him happiness anymore.
It was his closest confidants who conspired against him to ease the suffering of the people. In their desperation, Rao'l decided to kidnap the Pharaoh's son Djammis. He entrusted the two-year-old boy to the care of his sister Neshêm. Upon his return through one of the few stargates that Pharaoh Ra had not yet bent to his will, he and a loyal ally blackmailed Pharaoh Ra: If he ever wanted to see his son again, he must return to a just and benevolent rule - otherwise he would never see Djammis again, and the boy would never know who his true father was. In his uncontrollable rage, Pharaoh Ra struck down the two brave men. Convinced of his limitless power, he sent his soldiers to search every dwelling on every planet of our universe for his son. But no soldier would ever bring back his beloved son, who was all that remained of his Sheherazade.
Because the brutal search claimed countless victims and because soldiers brought numerous young boys before their Pharaoh, the bravest of his people rose up against him, even though they feared they were facing a god. It was their leaders who proclaimed themselves Pharaohs and thus his adversaries. Despite their eternal oath of loyalty, Pharaoh Ra's soldiers could no longer slaughter their own people and betrayed him. But even the Pharaoh's enemies, whose numbers grew steadily, could not agree among themselves. Thus our universe descended into a war of Pharaohs, who nonetheless could not defeat Ra.
After a seemingly endless time of killing and war, a young man sought out Pharaoh Ra. Ra recognized him as Rao'l's youngest brother Ferres. When he stood before him, Ferres told him with an empty gaze that his search was in vain. His son Djammis had already been murdered months ago by the Pharaoh's own soldiers during their cruel search. They had killed not only the hidden heir but also his foster mother Neshêm. If Ferres spoke the truth, Pharaoh Ra collapsed to the ground with a blood-curdling scream. The pain and guilt of having caused the death of his only beloved son caused him to die at the feet of the man who had also buried his son. Barely had the Pharaoh drawn his last breath when the sky broke open and a blinding beam of light struck his body. The light was so bright that Ferres was blinded for a brief moment. When he could see again as the light faded, the dead body of the fallen Pharaoh had vanished. To this day, scholars are convinced that Pharaoh Ra's soul was banished from the heavenly realm of the gods by this supernatural light, and was condemned to wander restlessly through the stargates of the universe.
Since then, the self-proclaimed Pharaohs have been at constant war with each other, seeking to build an empire equal to that of Ra. Our universe will only find peace when a ruler appears who ascends Ra's throne driven not by power but by justice. But who will be this just Pharaoh, sent by the ancient Egyptian gods? Could it be you?
